EU Ambassador Christiane Hohmann visted Meliha Zyberaj, founder of Innovation in Tradition. This start-up was supported by EU for Innovation, and is at the moment a success story in Vau i Dejës!

After receiving a grant as a Challenge Fund winner, Meliha has employed other women of the area to produce handcrafts combining innovative techniques and Albanian cultural heritage.

EU Ambassador Christiane Hohmann appreciated the business idea of Meliha, because of the job opportunities for marginalized women, their unique handcrafts and their use of environmentally friendly silk. “Albania needs strong women like Meliha and Europe Is Here to support them!”
