Tirana Inc. Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony

The ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ Signing Ceremony, between the five founding partner Universities of Tirana Inc. took place on April 22^nd, in the premises of the Polytechnic University of Tirana.

With the participation of Prof. Dr. Andrea Maliqari, Rector of Polytechnic University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Memaj, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Besnik Aliaj, Rector of POLIS University, Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan, Rector of EPOKA University, Prof. Dr. Gëzim Karapici, Rector of Metropolitan University of Tirana and Dr. Jacqueline Jaspert, Team Leader of EU for Innovation project, the signing of the MoU marks a significant first step in the act of setting up an incubation programme of joint efforts. The goal is to enable student start-up teams, teaching staff, researchers and young entrepreneurs, to fine tune and bring their innovative ideas into life.

European Delegation to Albania representative Mr. Enzo Damiani, applauded the initiative of the universities and their willingness to cooperate, but also assured that the European Union will continue to foster capacity building for Albanian universities in the field of research and innovation, in the framework of the European Commission’s Digital Agenda for the Western Balkans.

The official and public kick-off of Tirana INC. will take place online on Thursday, 29 April at 5.00 PM, and will be livestreamed through Tirana Inc.

Ceremonia e nënshkrimit të ‘Memorandumit të Bashkëpunimit’, midis pesë universiteteve partnere, themeluese të Tirana Inc. u zhvillua më 22 Prill, në ambientet e Universitetit Politeknik të Tiranës.

Me pjesëmarrjen e Prof. Dr. Andrea Maliqari, Rektor i Universiteti Politeknik Tiranë, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Memaj, Zëvendës Dekan i FEUT (Fakulteti i Ekonomise Universiteti i Tiranes), Prof. Dr. Besnik Aliaj, Rektor i Universiteti Polis, Prof. Dr. Güngör Turan, Rektor i Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Gëzim Karapici, Rektor i Universiteti Metropolitan Tirana dhe Dr. Jacqueline Jaspert, Drejtuese e projektit EU for Innovation, nënshkrimi i Memorandumit shënon një hap të parë, të rëndësishëmë, në krijimin e një programi inkubimi, si një përpjekje e përbashkët. Qëllimi është mbështetja e start-up-eve e studentëve, stafit akademik, kërkuesve dhe sipërmarrësve të rinj, të formësojnë e të kthejnë në realitet idetë e tyre inovative.

Përfaqësuesi i Bashkimit Evropian në Shqipëri, z. Enzo Damiani, përshëndeti iniciativën e universiteteve themeluese dhe gatishmërinë e tyre për të bashkëpunuar, si dhe pohoi se Bashkimi Evropian do të vazhdojë të nxisë zhvillimin e kapaciteteve në universitetet Shqiptare në fushat e kërkimit dhe inovacionit, nën kornizën e Agjendës Dixhitale të Komisionit Evropian për Ballkanin Perëndimor.

Aktiviteti zyrtar dhe publik i hapjes së Tirana INC. do të zhvillohet ‘online’ të enjten, datë 29 Prill në 17.00, dhe do të transmetohet drejtpërdrejt në Facebook përmes Tirana Inc. Kickoff event.
