A core team at Tirana’s Municipality has worked on the “Innovation Strategy Sprint” this week, with the support of Board of Innovation and enabled by EU for Innovation.
The team envisions to become innovation enabler, transform the institution into an innovation engine that does not only drafts policies, but supports and monitors implementation, works with and for the citizens, companies, and institutions, becoming forerunner in innovation.
Innovation has been set as a mid-term priority at the Municipality, and the mission stated at the innovation sprint fully resonates: “MoT uncovers and enables innovation opportunities to support the creation of impact with and for citizens, companies, and institution”. MoT aims to serve as a change agent for the development of innovative solutions that will serve the citizens of Tirana along with coordinating actors and initiatives in a comprehensive innovative ecosystem. Various ideas were generated during the sprint, while a few were further elaborated as key activities; their blueprints were created, and a roadmap for the implementation of the strategy was also presented.
The Policy makers are key players of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem. The main purpose of this intervention, powered by EU for Innovation is to support government institutions, such as the Municipality of Tirana in strengthening their innovation capacities and innovation management.
