
The launching event of Circular City Labs Shkodra has set the stage for exciting innovations in circular economy and sustainability!
The day began with a warm welcome from key figures, including Mr. Shkëlzen Marku of Yunus Social Business Balkans, Deputy Mayor Mr. Rudin Beka, and representatives from the EU Delegation and German Embassy. These opening remarks highlighted the significance of circular economy solutions for Shkodra and the broader region.



Marcel Thomkins provided a comprehensive overview of the CCL Shkodra initiative, sharing its objectives to drive impactful changes in waste management and urban sustainability. Rubin Beci also outlined the eligibility criteria and application process for the accelerator program, making it clear that innovation and community impact are at the heart of this initiative.

Day 2
The next day was dedicated to a Design Thinking workshop where participants explored creative approaches to solving Shkodra’s waste management challenges. Teams were dived into prototyping and refining their innovative solutions to Shkodra’s waste management challenges.


The highlight of the day was the presentation session, where each group shared their ideas with facilitators and peers, receiving valuable feedback to sharpen their strategies. After lunch, participants focused on final adjustments and refining their solutions based on the feedback they received.

The closing session, led by Mr. Shkëlzen Marku, tied everything together, outlining the next steps and how these ideas can move toward implementation.
