Europe Week 2024 kicked off last Saturday in Shkodra, Albania, celebrating inclusiveness, diversity, and human rights.

The official launch ceremony in Shiroka was a significant event, attracting a diverse group of participants. Public authorities, Team Europe, the diplomatic corps, international and local civil society organizations, citizens, business communities, media personnel, young European ambassadors (YEAs), and students all came together to mark the occasion.
The ceremony unfolded with a warm welcome by the moderator, followed by captivating artistic performances. “The Door,” a local band of musicians with special needs, showcased their amazing talent. Following, a stirring presentation from the Western Balkans Youth Orchestra, featuring a smaller group of brass musicians.

Remarks by the Mayor of Shkodra and the Head of Delegation underscored the significance of the occasion and the collective commitment to the values of the European Union. EU4Innovation is proud to be part of this event, which symbolizes a shared dedication to fostering unity and cooperation in the region.
One of the highlights of the day was the “EU Fair On-Air” which provided a dynamic platform for live discussions and instant coverage. Representatives from the European Union Delegation, Member States, and various EU-funded projects were featured live all over Albania.

EU4Innovation had the opportunity to share some of the main areas of Action during the second phase of implementation.
We shared a bit from our ongoing collaborations with the innovation ecosystem in different cities of Albania, like Tirana, Durrës, Korça, and Shkodra.
We also presented one of the incubation programmes powered by EU4I, that supported youngsters in Shkodra, ‘Good Startup School’. The GSS project coordinator shared the success of the programme that came to an end in March 2024, with a study trip visit in Vienna for the winning student teams.
