AlbaniaTech Ecosystem Portal is now LIVE!

AlbaniaTech is now live! Everything about the Albanian Innovation ecosystem in one place!

AlbaniaTech Portal is online! This marks the beginning of the path towards AlbaniaTech’s high goal, to offer its support in the growth of the tech and startup ecosystem in Albania.

In order to strengthen the cooperation between the innovation stakeholders in Albania and to increase the visibility of its start-up ecosystem worldwide for entrepreneurs and investors, EU for Innovation has supported the development of the online ecosystem Portal AlbaniaTech.org, which represents the start-up ecosystem in Albania comprehensively to the outside world and will enable greater cooperation between stakeholders within the country.

AlbaniaTech is the platform of the Albanian Startup and Innovation Ecosystem, its actors, and their offers, as well as a place to share success stories and an overview of active startups.

The platform’s purpose is to serve as an online place bringing together the Albania Startup community and consequently strengthening its capacity for innovation while building linkages within the Albanian innovation ecosystem locally and internationally.

Introducing the Portal, Gerti Boshnjaku, Portal Lead of AlbaniaTech, stated: “AlbaniaTech’s Portal is aimed at uniting the existing communities in one platform. With this comes the purpose of building potential bridges between Albania and other countries, establishing an environment for businesses, knowledge institutions, and capital providers to find each other, and make Albanian innovation businesses successful in the region and on global markets.”

The first version of AlbaniaTech Portal comprises of:

  • An Albanian Tech ecosystem overview.
  • Information about cities as Tech Hubs – Tirana, Korca (coming soon), and Shkodra (coming soon).
  • Discover Albania – information on how to work, live, do business and invest in Albania.
  • Showcases – success stories of Albanian companies and organizations, founders, diaspora, and cooperation with Balkans.
  • Latest news and events happening within the Albanian Innovation Ecosystem.
  • Access to Job portal in the partnership of Duapune.al

In addition to an online website, the Portal includes a social media presence on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, and Twitter, and is planning future promo campaigns. AlbaniaTech’s Portal is the primary source of all relevant information on the Albanian Tech ecosystem. It was developed reflecting recommendations of StartupAmsterdam and TechUkraine’s best practices, and with the support of EU for Innovation, a project implemented by the German development agency GIZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit.

Dr. Jacqueline Jaspert, Team Leader of EU for Innovation project, states: “AlbaniaTech has a mission, it is a tool for cooperation, a means to strengthen the tech and start-up community in Albania and to showcase Albanian success stories to the world. It creates identity and a joint understanding of what makes the Albanian ecosystem unique.” – regarding the Portal.

The development of this platform was made possible through the support of EU for Innovation, and the assistance of CupolaXS Team Ruben Nieuwenhuis and Inna Stelmakh.

“Albania can be proud of its great innovation potential, which is presented now at AlbaniaTech’s Portal. With AlbaniaTech it proves that all stakeholders can unite to collaborate in growing towards Albania being a leading global tech-hub”, said Ruben Nieuwenhuis, Advisor for AlbaniaTech and the former director of StartupAmsterdam.

“We created AlbaniaTech as a powerful tool to promote the Albania innovation ecosystem to the world. Be proud of your ecosystem, and celebrate it by joining the campaign #IamAlbaniaTech”, said Inna Stelmakh, Advisor for AlbaniaTech and the former Portal Lead of TechUkraine.

Version 1.0 of the Portal is available following the link albaniatech.org. All interested Albanian Tech ecosystem participants are welcome to provide information that is missing on the website.
