Event Gallery Together We Innovate!

Following on the epic success of Game Jam Albania 2023, yet again the expectations for the second edition were surpassed. Game Jam Albania is not just an event; it’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community. Over the course of 4 days, participants from diverse backgrounds come together to conceptualize, design, and develop unique games based on a common theme.

The Uplift 5th Edition Demo Day event was held on April 23rd in Tirana, Albania, marking the culmination of the 4-month Uplift Startup Accelerator program implemented by ICTSlab. We celebrated the graduation of the 12 start-ups of this edition. Also, some prizes were awarded to 4 start-ups. Congrats to Patoko, Blite, Nullius in Verba, and Beachmaster!

This event marked the culmination of the program, designed to cultivate the next generation of eco-conscious entrepreneurs in Albania. We got to know more about the 12 start-ups that participated in this incubation programme. The ideas presented were diverse, and inspiring, each providing an innovative solution for a problem in the Albanian context.

During the Demo Day start-ups had the opportunity to showcase their innovative and emerging business ideas, focused on Green Economy, Circular Economy, and Innovation, in front of a jury comprising of esteemed individuals from academia, private sector, NGOs, and Albanian start-up ecosystem.

The Circular City Labs – Tirana Project was launched on March 25th in the premises of GIZ Albania office in a ceremony where the GIZ Country Director, Dr. Sonja Kurz and the Deputy Mayor of Tirana, Ms. Anuela Ristani, officially signed the MoU.

The second edition of Good Startup School Shkodra held its Demo Day. The start-ups presented their ideas in front of a 6-person jury, who then chose 3 winning student start-up teams. Congratulations to Shkodra Tours, Art-Zan and SkillsSquad!

.S.E.A.M. incubator kicked off with the gathering of 15 selected participants, partners and collaborators, marking the beginning of this creative journey.

Tirana Inc. organized its 3-day Bootcamp activities at Metropolitan Innovation Center between February 28th and March 1st, with over 15 participating start-ups, 10 mentors, as well as EU4Innovation Program representatives in attendance. The Bootcamp was facilitated by our team in collaboration with experts from Preneurz.Amsterdam, Erik Boer and Rogier Senn van Basel.

The first EU4Innovation Project Steering Committee Meeting was held on 15 January 2024, at the premises of the Ministry of Finance and Economy. Representatives from the EU Delegation in Albania, the German and Swedish Embassies in Tirana, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, GIZ in Albania and EU4Innovation, were present and active during this meeting.

The European Union, Germany, and Sweden are joining forces as Team Europe, with the Government of Albania, to develop and boost the Albanian Innovation Agenda. We were honored to gather representatives from the Albanian Government, donors, and the most important actors of the innovation ecosystem to launch the second phase of the multi-donor action “EU4Innovation”. We celebrated the success of the first phase by hosting an expo that showcased some of the great business ideas the EU4Innovation project has supported and presented the components it will support in the second phase, implemented by GIZ Albania and SIDA.
